Don't Bother!
David
Having done many escape rooms in both London, across the UK and in different countries, we tried the Capital Caper Escape Room and it has to be the WORST escape room we have ever done.
Despite the ominous location (thought we were going to someone's flat), when we first entered the room we had high hopes as it initially looked like a well dressed room and the staff member was very pleasant. However, things then went downhill once we started. Ultimately there are very few puzzles to solve which in essence makes this escape room bad value for money.
Please do not go here if this is your first escape room experience as you will be put off which is a shame as there are many many many wonderful escape rooms out there - this is just not it!
It would appear that things are faulty and broken within the room. Probably from previous people getting frustrated with what is a fundamentally a very basic and flawed escape experience.
We encountered a series of problems which even resulted early on in the game master having to come inside the room. This did not bode well for the rest of the game (looking back now, at that point the experience was already ruined). The radio response was also very slow and we had to repeat our calls several times.
Multiple times, we had solved a clue but things were not triggered correctly - we had to state exactly what we had done on the radio rather than things happen automatically. At that point the next thing would be triggered - this was extremely frustrating, not immersive and tainted the whole experience.
In the laser room, there was a laser that was not working and this puzzle seemed to be visually triggered by the game master. After a while the game master realised that the first laser was not working so stopped penalizing us for it as we had been working on solving it correctly.
Escape Room: Limited puzzles, really not worth wasting money on solving approx. 5 clues. One of the puzzles is also wrong as it doesn't correctly follow the rules of chess. If you don't have a King on your board you have already lost the game! Puzzle can still be solved but this was "not the correct answer", therefore the 'king' is actually a queen. When talking this through with the game master they just said "I don't play chess".
Other things to note: The whole place has low ceilings - bumped our heads multiple times. It is also pretty hot in the room.
Once we escaped there was nothing - we have so many photos of our experiences after joyous escape rooms and this was the first time there was no photo and we just left.
Amazing family experience! Had a birthday celebration booked for my daughter this Saturday and the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the experience. The Star Struck escape was a great fun and everyone loved it! Highly recommend

Have just completed the mysterious Star Truck adventure room. The puzzles were relatively challenging but the game master's support was impeccable throughout the experience. I also loved the futuristic design of the room.

Had lots of fun in the Star Struck room with my friends this morning! Although the room is branded as the less difficult one, the puzzles were highly engaging.

Tried the experience with a group of friends on a rainy Saturday night. Very interesting puzzles. Can’t recommend the Star Struck enough. At first, you enter the game feeling a little lost but the game catches up really quickly. The game masters was very supportive throughout the game

Simply amazing experience! Have played the Star Struck another day and the game was impeccable. The game lasted an hour and every single puzzle was super engaging. The game master was highly supportive too.
